South Charlotte Dog Rescue (SCDR) is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2015 and based in Waxhaw, NC.  Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need, providing them with a second chance at a happy life!  SCDR is 100% foster and volunteer based with a commitment to adopting the right dog, to the right home, at the right time.  This sets us apart as we consider ourselves to be a placement agency, working with each adoptive family to match the personality and temperament of a dog to their home and lifestyle.  This model ensures a long and happy relationship between the dog and their forever family!  SCDR has continually grown over the years and thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers we have rescued over 2,500 dogs & cats, many with extensive medical needs.  Our dedicated volunteers and fosters are the backbone of the organization, providing essential care for the dogs in our foster program.
